MAY 2022 UPDATE

From November 2021 we jointly presented some on-line live-streamed monthly sessions of Best of the Music Fest, the 'Cranbrook Sessions', with several musical acts performing in front of a small audience at the RML Clubhouse, The Cranbrook Centre in Valentines Park broadcast live to YouTube and Facebook, thanks to volunteers and hospitality from Redbridge Music Lounge. Our final session took place on Sunday 13 March, and all the sessions from November, December, January, February and March are still available to view on YouTube and you can find the links to these from www.bestofthefest.uk or from www.rmluk.org

Check these websites also to catch up with a multitude of additional performances from the Walled Garden in 2020-21, as well as the virtual live-streamed programme of Best of the Fest during Spring 2021, and other recordings from the Green Fair Music Club before and since the suspension of the club during the pandemic lockdown

Our 2022 season of live music once a month in the Walled Garden at Valentines Mansion in Valentines Park Ilford commenced on Sunday 10 April this year. (We are awaiting the outcome of the local area Tesco 'Bags of Help' initiative, utilising the income from the sale of plastic shopping bags, which could make all the difference to the number of sessions we can afford to put on in the Walled Garden this year)

Redbridge Green Fair Live Music Club

(During the Covid 19 lockdown in 2020/21 Chris Wyatt from Redbridge Music Lounge spent time sorting the video archives of the Green Fair Music Club in order to bring you a selection of live recordings from the Music Club shows in recent years, (and from elsewhere), particularly from some of the acts who otherwise would have performed at Best of the Music Fest or at the Midsummer Music Fest before the Pandemic restrictions were lifted)

Check out the links on the Music Lounge website:

https://www.rmluk.org/media-video/music-video/
(The pandemic also resulted in the cancellation of  Redbridge Midsummer Music Fest in 2020 and 2021, traditionally run in partnership with Redbridge Music Lounge www.rmluk.org since 2003, as well as the Fairlop Fair in July 2020, where many of our varied acts have also provided a wealth of great live music performance every year since 2011...and again in July 2021!). We are very hopeful of providing more wonderful live music at both these events in 2022!

BEST OF THE MUSIC FEST - the story so far....

Best of the Music Fest in the Walled Garden at Valentines Mansion began in 2013 but was unable to commence its 8th season of Sunday lunchtime & afternoon concerts in April 2020 due to the Covid 19 Pandemic - our annual season has previously run
on one Sunday of every month from April until October from 11am to 4.30pm, providing free entertainment with a host of diverse live music, and normally features about 50 different acts over seven events in each year! In 2020 we eventually managed two events in August & September, and in 2021 we were pleased to be able to hold six events from May to October, bringing our total number of different live music acts featured since April 2013 to 150! Thanks are due to all those amazing and generous performers, and to our enthusiastic and appreciative loyal and ever-growing audience, and of course to our Redbridge Music Lounge volunteers who helped to ensure our events continued Covid-safe

Thanks very much for your continued interest in our events programmes. Thankfully it is now possible at last to offer more live music entertainment in Redbridge again. Please take care of yourselves and our very best wishes to you. Please keep in touch, and, if you wish to be added to my e-mail group, just let me know by email or text message.

We will continue to help promote all our supporting musicians and music acts whenever and however possible.
