Land ArtJoin us in making Giant Planet Earth at Redbridge Green Fair 2012
Connect, inspire and get in touch with your roots. Become a Land Artist for a day. We will be marking out a giant map of the world across the flat grassland on the Green Fair site. Outlines of countries and continents will be already laid out. You can choose a country, or continent of the world to work on, that inspires you or you have some knowledge on. Different natural materials would be made available for you to creatively express your connection with the particular place.
Donations of natural materails for this project are very much welcome! Also If you want to personalise your natural image, feel free to bring something of your country of the origin to make ypur mark on the land. It could be your country flag, a special pebble or rock, flower or plant. We will be happy to incorporate them in the final piece of art. |

What is Land Art?
Inspired by popular artists, such as Andy Goldsworthy, Land Art is simply using natural resources or recycling materials found and available in the local environment, for example leaves, flower petals, willow, twigs, pebbles, to create large imagea on the land.
It is a wonderful activity that combines creativity, outdoor natural play and learning. It helps to connect with nature and natural places and learn more about your local environment.

Volunteers needed for this projectCalling all creative people from all walks of life!!
Do you feel passionate about the natural world, recycling, sustainability, and local heritage? If you are good at connecting with people of all ages, like being outside and interested in creative arts, we would like to hear from you. |
We need volunteers who are happy to assist the land artist and get local people involved in the creation of the giant Planet Earth land image on the parks green using natural materials. Your help will be also needed with gathering and sourcing natural resources for the final piece of art on the day. You will have a chance to develop new skills and meet likeminded people. It really is a great day out with lots of fun.
You will need to attend a short induction and preparation session 10.30 - 12:00 on 19th May at Valentines Park so that you will be ready to help in all preparations and tasks on the day. Training and support will be given.
Please contact Olenka, the urban land art initiator and artist, to express your interest, find out more and reserve a place.
