This Sunday's Green Fair in Melbourne Field at Valentines Park has a host of activities for residents to come and try something new for free.
A number of local clubs and activity providers will be there to show you how it's done and welcome you to join in at the Have-a-go zone!
There will be a range of sports-type fun and games led by the Vision Active Parks Team, as well as a chance to try zumba, jazzercise dance fitness and salsa with Nikki Baldwin and Elli Galvani from Edens Trust.
Morris Dancing and Barn Dancing will have you on your feet to the playing of Storm in a Teacup folk band
The Spare Tyre Band will be inviting you to make musical instruments from recycled materials in preparation for an all-join-in performance.
Sam Castell-Ward from The Avenue Open Mic Night will be hosting a special open mic session for budding singers, comics, poets and musicians.
The Green Fair is run entirely by local volunteers for the everyone in the Redbridge community with over 100 stalls, two music stages, lots of family fun activities and other attractions and is a free event from 11am to 7pm

Have a Go!
Calling all sports clubs, dance schools, leisure groups, classes, activity groups, etc....... Do you run a local sports activity, offer dance or health & fitness sessions, meet as a musical group or choir, run a drama or craft club, or anything else that’s fun to do?
This year the Redbridge Green Fair takes place on Sunday 29 May in Melbourne Field, Valentines Park Ilford from 11am to 7pm.
We are repeating a popular feature this year to add to the 100+ stalls, children & families creative activities, music stages, food stalls, beer tent, green attractions and workshops, etc....
Because one of our core aims is to bring people together across communities, and to encourage participation in activities that improve life in Redbridge, we are once again organising a ‘Have a Go’ zone. We hope that a wide range of community activity groups will take a slot in the programme
You will need to bring any equipment you require – the ‘pitch’ will be an area of the field within the Green Fair site. We will provide a small battery-powered amp and microphone to assist communication, but otherwise you need to bring your own equipment and service your own requirements. You will be welcome to give out flyers to advertise your regular activities and we hope the initiative will promote local community activities and support you and your group.
With very best wishes to everyone trying to enrich leisure activities in the borough, Steve Collins (Redbridge Green Fair Committee) 07917 050490
