Doctor Blue & the Prescription

Doctor Blue & the Prescription play the electric blues of Texas, Chicago and New Orleans, ranging from blues classics, such as 'Kidney Stew' and 'Got My Mojo Working', to original songs written by the band’s two vocalists, Mike McKeon and Sameena Zehra.

The band’s lead singer, rhythm guitarist & harp-player Mike McKeon (aka ‘Dr Blue’) was once described as “the bastard son of Tom Waits and Howling Wolf”. Mike’s howling vocals and wailing harmonica are punctuated by the blistering guitar licks of Dave 'Guitar' Piggott, who often ends a set by playing his guitar behind his head. Holding it all together at the back are the veteran ‘Two-Petes’ rhythm section of drummer Pete Abernethy and bassist Pete Feldon.
