The Campaign

The Campaign have been described as : Blur if Damon Albarn had been obsessed with Buzzcocks instead of The Kinks.

Formed when the weather turned cold in December 2005 by the skinny tie rack in Topman. Brought together by a love of pop, punk, and new wave. "Our plan was simple; to bring catchy pop songs back to the grey skies of Romford. "

And so the Campaign begins........

Sci-Fi Circus

Sci-Fi Circus are a newly formed band from North London playing guitar- & drum-driven garage rock

Ivy York

After years of writing, performing and the release of the self-penned & produced album (Ivy York,2007), Ivy & Ravi perfect their musical recipe to bring you their latest offering, The Call of Spring EP. Mixing Ivy's Australian upbringing of vintage country music & old Hollywood with Ravi's modern brit pop & retro Bollywood sounds, the two inject their previous indie flavour with energy, vibrance and a new range of instruments including pedal steel guitar by legendary player, BJ Cole (REM, The Verve, Bjork). With 'The Call of Spring' Ivy & Ravi evolve beyond expectations to produce the most captivating sound of 2009.

Polanksi

Take the sprightly inspiration of indie power pop, the influence of archetypal English bands such as The Kinks, The Jam and The Smiths and the ambition to escape a frustrating 9 to 5 existence in a quiet suburban town.
The answer is Polanski

Mama Skank

Mama Skank are an 11 piece old school ska band, playing a style of ska influenced mostly by the 1960's Jamaican bands like the Skatalites. A very dancy vibe with lots of horns, double bass and guitar grooves.

The Dead Flowers

The Dead Flowers play rock music influenced by their youth, mainly from the late 60s and early 70s, recreating the sounds of bands like The Rolling Stones, The Eagles and Bob Dylan. Their original songs have the sounds of this era, but the lyrics are written from the vantage point of their considerable maturity.

Doctor Blue and the Prescription

Doctor Blue and the Prescription play the electric blues of Chicago. Lead singer Mike 'Doctor Blue' Mckeon, described as the 'beep' son of Howling Wolf and Tom Waites(!) fronts this energetic band, punctuated by the blistering solos of Dave 'Guitar' Piggott. Holding it all together at the back is veteren drummer Pete Abernethy and Pete Feldon on bass. In addition to playing venues such as London's 'Ain't Nothing But a Blues Bar and the prestigeous Irish Blues Club in Dublin, the band regularly play in pubs and clubs at music festivals here and abroad.

Doctor Blue and The Prescription make a welcome return this festival and will be playing tracks from their new album available on download from their website.
