Redbridge Green Fair

If you have any unwanted items that could be re-used by someone else, bring it along to the Redbridge Green Fair!  The Forest Recycling Project will be runniing a Give Or Take event in the field.

Give or Take is a way of getting rid of things you don't need or looking for things you do. You can give away something, look at what others have brought and take it away.  It started in 1998 when the Forest Recycling Project started holding Give or Take events in and around Waltham Forest. We would collect re-usable items people would otherwise throw away, take them to a school or community centre on a Saturday, open the doors and let people come in and take whatever they fancied. Now these events have become so popular that they have expanded to Redbridge and try to hold them monthly, in different wards, and at each event around 3 tonnes of 'stuff' is saved from going down the dump.

There is also a new Give or Take website just for Redbridge, where you can add something to give away, look at what others have to give away, or place an ad for something you need. This site is a way of extending the concept so that everybody can find a good home for something too good to throw away, and also a way of making Give or Take available 365 days a year rather than just 12.
